Camp Connection Removes Polycarbonate Bottles.

Canada's Chemicals Management Plan goes proactive.

The Canadian Governments new Chemicals Management Plan has taken a proactive stance on the chemical bisphenol A (BPA) - Specifically as it is used in food and beverage containers. They have opened a 60 day rebuttal period, at the end of which bottles and containers which incorporate BPA will likely be slowly phased out of use. There are two things to note here:

1. The Government still states that "most Canadians need not be concerned. This is because health effects occur at levels much greater than those we are exposed to in Canada."
2. Only Polycarbonate Plastics (SPI# 7) use BPA in their manufacture. Other common plasic types like High or Low density plastics (SPI#'s 2,4) are completely BPA free.

In accordance with these concerns, Camp connection has removed all bottles containing BPA from the shelves, and is offering a buyback program for polycarbonate bottles sold from the store. Things are happening at Camp Connection!

If you have been in to the store in the last month, you may have noticed that the store-front sign is a little different. More precisely, it's not there. There is a temporary banner sign up because we are getting a new sign! In about a month we'll have a whole new look, outside and in.

To go with the new look on the outside, Camp Connection is renovating the inside as well - but not just for aesthetics - the store needs to be more efficient. So much new spring and summer merchandise is starting to arrive (Loyal Army, Point Zero, Ripzone, Powder Room, Junk Food...) and the store is filling so rapidly, new store fixtures are needed just to get it all unpacked!

And just like any other renovation, changing one thing always leads to the next and the next. New fixtures, then new accents, a little lighting, new counters and before you know it - It's the New Camp Connection!

The store will be open as usual through the entire progression - be sure to drop in and check us out.
